the British Consul General Canton No 52 repeated to British Embassy Shanghai No 57 British Embassy Tokyo No 42 begins:-

Three Japanese militury aeroplanes reported by H.M.S. Cicala flying over Deep Bay yesterday 1335. This is the

third such infringement of British teritorial rights

within

7 days, 2 former being as follows:- (e) 3 monoplanes at 0945 23rd April (b) the same at 1310 25th April, These latter

cases reported to you in my confidential despatch No 27 of 28th April which will reach you in due course. Please

address categorical request to Japanese authorities to take steps to prevent these easily avoidable mistakes occurring again.
